Deal Details
Performance Plus Motors, a unit of Abu Dhabi Motors , according to a company statement.
will be responsible for the sales, delivery, and after-sales service of Aito’s luxury intelligent models in the UAE
The strategic alliance, announced on 6 February 2026, is the official move of Aito into the region, and an actual launch date remains unknown.
The move is based on the successful product portfolio of Aito that follows the AITO in flagship SUV format, the sporty AITO in the 7 model, and also the sporty AITO in the 5 model- all these products are designed to withstand desert life like extreme temperatures and sand.
Brand Background
Since its inception, AITO has delivered over 970,000 vehicles total. In 2025, the brand added several new models to its product catalog, including the AITO M9 2025 edition, the AITO M8 in both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric versions, and the revised AITO M7.
Its models have a longer range, similar to those of Tesla, and high-end interiors that compete with the BMW iX or Mercedes EQS SUV, in addition to AI-operated cockpit with a smooth luxury feel.
The parent company Seres (601127,SS) takes advantage of the high level of smart-driving offered by Huawei, making the brand one of the cheapest in comparison with the higher priced European companies.
Market Analysis
According to dubizzle’s latest Annual Pre-Owned Electric Car Market Report 2025, used EV listings in the UAE increased by 41% year on year, indicating growing consumer confidence and a maturing pre-owned electric car market.
Yu Chengdong, Executive Director at Huawei, emphasized the partnership’s accomplishments:
The AITO M9 has led its segment for 21 consecutive months and exceeded 270,000 deliveries.
The M8 has dominated its class for six months in a row, while the M7 has now exceeded 400,000 units shipped. The demand is also triggered by the presence of regional charging infrastructure and the oil based diversification of the country.
Future Outlook
By the end of 2026, it is projected that the company will go through rapid showroom deployment and expansion in GCC markets, especially Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
By applying Huawei technological competence and the volume of production capacity of Seres, Aito can seize the sale of premium electric vehicles in the UAE in two years, threatening the market dominance of Western leaders.
The viability of this operation will heavily rely on good service during geopolitical tensions, but Aito is an engineer who can provide a foothold that could be revolutionary.
