Facebook is adding a money transfer feature to Messenger

51 sec read

Many people considered it to be inevitable and now it looks like they were right; Facebook has added a money transfer feature to Messenger. The new feature will be rolling out to Android, iOS, and web users in the United States in the coming months and will allow them to send or receive money to or from any person in their contacts, something that more and more messaging services are getting in to nowadays.

Today we’re adding a new feature in Messenger that gives people a more convenient and secure way to send or receive money between friends. This feature will be rolling out over the coming months in the US. It’s easy and free. The money you send is transferred right away. It may take one to three business days to make the money available to you depending on your bank, just as it does with other deposits. A dependable and trusted payments processor for game players and advertisers since 2007, Facebook processes more than one million transactions daily on the site and also handles all the payments processed on Messenger.  Incorporating security best practices into our payments business has always been a top priority. We use secure systems that encrypt the connection between you and Facebook as well as your card information when you ask us to store it for you. We use layers of software and hardware protection that meet the highest industry standards.
