LG is closing the gap with Samsung thanks to the LG G3

39 sec read

LG has always been overshadowed by its much larger South Korean competitor, Samsung, but the company has been closing the gap in recent months thanks to the success of the LG G3. Compared to 2013, LG’s smartphone sales have increased by more than 25% because of how wildly popular the LG G3 was last year.

Back in 2014, LG launched the LG G3 and while there were OEMs who had previously released smartphones with QHD displays, LG was the first amongst the more mainstream brands, beating out the likes of Samsung, Motorola, Sony, HTC, and so on. It seems that LG’s strategy might have paid off because according to reports, it has helped boost LG’s smartphone sales tremendously. Assuming the reports and numbers are accurate, it has been found that LG’s smartphone sales have seen a 25% year-on-year increase compared to 2013. The reports are crediting the LG G3 for helping to boost the company’s sales, and given that the LG G3 was launched in the middle of the year with only 6 months left in 2014, it is a pretty impressive feat if it is true.
