Udacity is already well known for hosting free, useful online classes in topics from robotics to computer science to mobile development. Now, the Udacity app for iPhone and iPad lets you take those classes with you anywhere you go, and enjoy them on your mobile device, for free.ย The new app essentially serves as a mobile portal to all of your subscribed or available Udacity courses.ย

Udacityย is makingย its online learning platform more accessible on mobile byย expanding its iOS appย to cover the iPhone.ย Udacity for iOS was originally an iPad-only app, but the company is bringing its video lessonsย โ€“ which include 12 full courses and 26ย free and โ€˜openโ€™ courseware โ€” to smaller screens. The change will allow users to โ€œtake a Udacity course wherever is convenient for you.โ€ย In addition, Udacity is also introducing an offline mode that allows users to download videos which can viewed even when they have no Internet access.ย With both iOS bases now covered, Udacity says it is working onย expandingย to Android next.ย โ€œWe have heard from many students that youโ€™d like to see Udacity on your Android devices, and we are working hard on bringing it to you,โ€ย the company wrote on its blog.
