The PlayStation 4 is coming to India on January 6, Sony has announced. The system will be available in the region for 39,990 Rupees, or around $640. When the PS4 launches in India, Sony’s new console will be available in 49 countries around the world, compared to 13 for the Xbox One.

Sony will launch the PlayStation 4 in India on Jan. 6 for 39,990 rupees ($640.79), the company announced yesterday. “We have received an overwhelming response for PlayStation 4 globally and are hoping to replicate this success in India too,” said Kenichiro Hibi, managing director of Sony India, in a press release.
