CES is just a few days away and Qualcomm has released a teaser video that highlights what the company is likely to focus on during the massive trade show: the Internet of Things. Qualcomm continues to thrive because mobile devices continue to thrive, something that the company notes in the teaser video’s tagline: “Smart mobile technologies for secure, connected devices.”

Just a few days away from the kickoff of CES 2015, Qualcomm has dropped a video teaser showing how the Internet of Everything will run your house in the future. Driven by notifications sent to mobile devices (good to see that the Nokia Lumia 1020 is still around in the future), homeowners will have a handle on the amount of water that is being used, be told that their meds are ready to be taken, and receive an alert about the laundry. The future also apparently includes receiving reminders about leaving the hot water on. The teaser’s tag line, “Smart mobile technologies for secure, connected devices” reminds us what butters Qualcomm’s bread. Speaking of mobile, last week the company showed off a Snapdragon 800 powered handset that will be introduced next week in Las Vegas. As we pointed out, with rear controls on board, this looks to be an LG produced model, possibly the LG G Flex 2.
