Reddit is getting ready to test out its long-awaited Android app

55 sec read

It’s easy to browse Reddit on Android device thanks to the numerous third-party apps on the Play Store, but those of us wanting an official Reddit mobile experience have been forced to either wait patiently, or switch to iOS. This is something that most Android users have grown accustomed to, as annoying as it is, but the good news is that the waiting is almost over, as Reddit is now accepting sign-ups to test out the official Reddit app for Android.

There are plenty of excellent Android apps for using Reddit, but a certain one has been missing for a while. In October of 2014, Reddit re-launched Alien Blue as the official Reddit app for iOS. There has never been an official Reddit app for Android, just the Ask Me Anything app, but that may change soon. Today, Reddit is accepting beta testers for the official Android app. The product manager for native mobile at Reddit posted about the beta in r/Android earlier today. Sign up for the beta started today and will end on December 18th. To sign up, simply visit this link and fill out the survey. Not everyone who fills out the survey will be selected to join the beta. Reddit is looking for a variety of users to test the app. There is no launch date for the final app yet. We’re already spoiled with plenty of great Reddit apps. The AMA app is very well designed, so we’re looking forward to adding another awesome app to the group. What Reddit app do you use?
