I am quite sure that just about everyone in the Netherlands are still brimming with happiness over the fact that they mastered Spain by a four goal deficit in the World Cup group stage, and so, with this wave of euphoria sweeping across the nation, having something else that would let the happy mood continue is the right thing to do. Apparently, it is said that the yet unannounced and unreleased Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime has been shown off in the Netherlands at an event which was cobbled together by mobile carrier KPN, where this particular event had its main focus on its LTE-Advanced service. The alleged Galaxy S5 Prime that appeared did not come with an official name, so it remains a rumor – for now.

Samsung is so proud of the premium version of its Samsung Galaxy S5 flagship model, that it recently showed off the device in the Netherlands. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime was shown off during an event put together by carrier KPN, with a focus on its LTE-Advanced service. Despite the phone’s appearance at the event, the manufacturer did not reveal an official name for the device. KPN will debut LTE-A on July 1st, and supported hardware should be available shortly thereafter. That includes the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime. While original rumors called for a 5.3 inch 1440 x 2560 resolution screen, the device on display in the Netherlands has the same 5.1 inch screen seen on the Galaxy S5, with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. That seems strange. If the idea behind the Galaxy S5 Prime is to challenge the QHD screen on the LG G3, that is not going to happen with a 1080p resolution glass. The CPU on the device is the quad-core Snapdragon 805, with the Adreno 420 GPU crushing graphics. With a model number of SM-G901F, the phone resembles the Samsung Galaxy S5. In fact, the reports from the Netherlands call the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime indistinguishable from the regular version of the phone, with the same back cover seen on the original model. That doesn’t exactly jive with the leaked pictures we’ve seen of the Samsung Galaxy F, supposedly another name given to the premium version of the Galaxy S5. Those photos show a model with a slightly larger screen and a brushed metal rear cover.
