Apple Pay support is expanding to 200,000 more self-serve kiosks

Mashable

USA Technologies may not be a household name but odds are that you’ve used many of the company’s products, such as laundromats, parking meters, vending machines, and similar self-serve kiosks. The company announced yesterday that it will soon be rolling out Apple Pay support to more than 200,000 of its existing products.

For some iPhone owners, the days of scrounging quarters to pay for laundry, snacks or parking may be over. USA Technologies, a company that makes vending machines, parking meters, laundromats and other self-service kiosks, announced Tuesday it would be adding support for Apple Pay to 200,000 of its appliances. The new Apple Pay-supported kiosks will roll out to thousands of locations around the country. It shouldn’t take much to update the machines’ software: USA Technologies has already been using NFC, the technology that powers Apple Pay, Google Wallet and many other digital wallets, in its appliances for more than 10 years, the company said.
