High school students design and build a satellite, then send it into space

21 sec read

A few students at the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology are the first high school students to first to design, build, and send a fully functioning satellite into space.

Cast your mind back to your high school days and ponder for a moment the kinds of tasks you undertook in science class. You may, for example, have tested absorbency levels of different types of paper towels, or investigated how various kinds of balls bounce. You might, if your teacher was of a particularly adventurous nature, have even inflated a balloon using baking soda and vinegar.
