Images of BlackBerry’s new touchscreen smartphone have been leaked

42 sec read

We have been hearing about the BlackBerry Jakarta for a while now. The handset is said to be the first of many devices to be made under the BlackBerry-Foxconn banner and is expected to be a budget device aimed at emerging markets, although how exactly it will look like remains to be seen, but what we do know is that it will not feature BlackBerry’s trademark physical QWERTY keyboard, but rather a full touchscreen which is surprising, a good surprise to be honest.

Since John Chen announced this BlackBerry device on the quarterly earnings call, we knew sooner or later the “Jakarta” would leak. Today, we have the pleasure to bring to you renders of the upcoming “Z3″ device.  As per Foxconn, this device will be shown off at MWC this month. Honestly, to me it  looks very nice, and at a rumored $150 price tag this can definitely be a game changer in emerging markets. The rumor is that the name of this device will be the Z3, which we can not confirm at the moment. Stay tuned for more information on this device as it trickles in. Do you like the device? Sound off in the comments
