People and businesses are so hung up on the social buttons that are both placed on sites and social networks that they often get deterred from posting or often the morale is deflated since the numbers are not inflated.
Understandably, your efforts of keeping your social activities active is time you do not want wasted and relying on numbers to be your be all or end all can be a big mistake. Everyone wants recognition for a job well done or even a task that is done at all. We all like to see a result to what we spent time investing in, from blog posts, sharing photos, questions, status updates and anything else we are capable of sharing online.
As much as we do like seeing the social shares, we should not rely on them to mean that it was seen. Check your analytic’s for that specific article; look under Facebook insights and most importantly, if it went out into the webiverse someone saw it. Do not write or share anything that you don’t relate to or are not passionate about, therefore you are expressing something meaningful to you anyways and social share numbers will be the bonus.
Don’t just post to post something, it truly won’t serve a purpose for you and ideally, sharing a thought or something that will evoke a positive emotion will have someone see it, whether they respond through a comment, like, reshare or any other action is out of your control.
What is within your reach is creating and sharing quality content which always increases the chances for others to want to spread it on their social sites like peanut butter on toast and ideally you want to shoot for this, but if you don’t get the reaction you are looking for, don’t get discouraged, instead find a commonality between you and your targeted audience and try again and remember that no matter what you post online, someone is always watching.
Before I got myself a personal ‘link shortener’ I always thought I was sharing for me and myself. A few days later I took a look at the statistics tool that came with the link shortening service, turned out: people did click the link I shared!
I can back this article. With no response there is still people who are fairly interested in what you have to share/say.
Take a look at yourself: How often do you comment or reply on what someone shared?
That is another excellent way to see if someone saw a post Geffrey and free too. Thanks for adding to the post!
