Alright, so ‘amazing’ is hardly a claim I can make considering I haven’t actually given this device a try as of yet, but being your typical emulation freak, a quick gamepad solution like the Chameleon X-1 from Shogun Bros. looks like it could certainly be something to perform an elaborate song and dance number about.
Cramming an entire operational gamepad into a mouse is no small feat, especially when said gamepad is located on the underside of the damn thing – for that, the brothers Shogun deserve a peek at my propers (and, assuming you’re impressed, yours). I especially like the dual PSP nubs – say what you will, but I kinda find nubs preferable to some current-gen thumb sticks. What I’m worried about, though, is the shape. Do me a favour, and hold your mouse in your hands. Seriously, give it a try. Hold it as if there was a gamepad on the underside. Not very comfortable, is it? Just sayin’.
The gadget is $55 bucks, and not available just yet – but you can be sure that in the event it’s a half-decent product, we may see classic gamers go all kinds of bananas over this thing. I know I will/would/might.
For me it’s just fine, I’ll give it a try if I find one of those on my way 🙂
Just tried holding my mouse and it feels fine – wouldn’t mind if it were a bit larger but its still okay. Would love to be able to pick up one of these! Genius!
