According to a report out of China. the OnePlus 2 may have a screen that’s slightly larger than the OnePlus One. A sketch of the smartphone has popped up Chinese micro-blogging network Weibo, and although OnePlus is claiming that it’s fake, the sketch suggests that the OnePlus 2’s display will be somewhere between 5.5 and 5.7 inches, which would put it up there with the likes of the Galaxy Note series.
The OnePlus 2 won’t just be faster than its predecessor, but it could be slightly larger, too. According to one source who claims to be familiar with OnePlus’ plans for the device, the handset will carry a 5.7-inch display similar to that of the Galaxy Note 4. KJuma has uploaded an apparent “spy sketch” of the OnePlus 2 to Chinese micro-blogging network Weibo, and claims its display will measure between 5.5 and 5.7 inches diagonally. Last year’s OnePlus One had a 5.5-inch display, which suggests the next model could be a little larger. It’s unclear what kind of resolution this display will be packing, but its larger size would give the OnePlus 2 a better chance of competing with flagship phablets like the Galaxy Note 4. However, it could also put off some consumers who don’t like their smartphones to be too large. If OnePlus could employ an “edge-to-edge” display and make the bezels around it as narrow as possible, however, the actual size of the handset’s chassis may not have to increase that much. So although the display could be 0.2 inches larger, the OnePlus 2 itself may be around the same size.
