Leaked Screenshots Suggest Newest Blackberry OS Might Finally Suck Less

Blackberries – you gotta’ love ’em. But lets be honest: if you have one, you peer over at your friend’s iPhone or Motorola Droid with more than a little envy. Sure, that Crackberry may be practical. But even the latest version aren’t exactly pretty.

That all looks set to change, if a couple of leaked screenshots are anything to go by.

BBleaks has just posted some snaps of what look like the newest edition of the Blackberry OS, version 6.0. Judging by the way the screen is arranged, not only does the clean interface look filled to the brim with widgets, it also seems like it’s touch screen friendly. Storm 2 anyone?

With RIM really feeling the heat from Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android, this can’t come soon enough. After all, people love their Blackberries – but if the Canadian smartphone makers can’t bring their OS up to par soon enough, they may end up losing customers to the rivals nipping at their heels.
