Nintendo has remained extremely tight-lipped regarding its upcoming console, codenamed NX. The company lost a lot of ground this console generation thanks to the utter failure that was the Wii U, and it needs to make it up as soon as possible, which is why it’s easy to believe the rumor that Nintendo intends to begin production of the NX this year.
Reports suggest Nintendo will begin manufacturing its next gaming console, codenamed NX, later this year. According to Digitimes (via NeoGAF) the Big N is working with manufacturing company Foxconn Electronics to begin building the new gaming machine this October at the very latest. The house of Mario apparently plans to launch the console in 2016, with sources claiming “mass production will start in May or June 2016, while the console’s official launch may take place around July.” Not only that, but Nintendo allegedly wants to ship a whopping 20 million units in its first year. Earlier this year it was rumored Nintendo’s new console would be Android-based, a report the company has since denied.
