PayPal Vending Machine Lets You Shop Online, Offline

For those of you who would really, really like some candy, but don’t have a quarter kicking around, don’t sweat it – Ray Tanaka and his homeslices at PayPal Labs have you all kinds of covered, having developed a vending machine that accepts PayPal. Simply scan the provided QR code with your phone, and receive your snack. Naturally, the machine tweets your purchase, too. Of course it does. Seems simple enough, but it’s actually a pretty complex setup, as the video reveals. And while tweeting may seem superfluous, Ray makes a good point: you kinda want confirmation of your purchase. Honestly, candy machines aside, Ray and Friends might be onto something with this. It was really only a matter of time before PayPal manifested physically, anyway.
