Renders of the Microsoft Band 2 have been leaked

With just two weeks to go until Microsoft’s big fall announcement event, some recently leaked images have given us our first look at one of the devices that the company is expected to unveil. Alongside its first Windows 10 smartphones and the Surface Pro 4, the company is expected to unveil the Microsoft Band 2 at the event, and if these leaked renders are any indication, the device will look much nicer than its predecessor.

We’re expecting to see Microsoft’s Band 2 at the company’s big event on October 6th, but we’re getting an early look thanks to a leak. Spanish site Microsoft Insider has obtained the images, which it claims are official renders of the new wearable. If legitimate, the images show a far more attractive device than the original model. The Verge can confirm that the tracker will feature a curved face like the device shown in the renders, though we cannot confirm the authenticity of these images. The leak shows a new metallic finish that, combined with the new curved display, moves away from the strictly utilitarian looks of the original Band. We’ll find out on October 6th if this is indeed what Microsoft’s new fitness tracker looks like — stay tuned for more.
