NTT DoCoMo, Japan’s largest mobile phone operator, has been pressuring Samsung to get it’s new mobile operating system up and running by January 2014. Today, a smartphone running Samsung’s mobile OS, called Tizen, was spotted in an FCC filing after previously making an appearance on Samsung’s website. Why a Japanese device would need FCC approval remains unclear but it could mean that Samsung has plans to launch the phone in the U.S. as well.
