Sony Ericsson XPERIA X12 Specs Leaked This Week

Sony Ericsson is one company which failed to make the most of the Google’s free mobile OS, Android. The HTC and Motorola banked hell lot of money by making their flagship devices based on android and Samsung has done it too this year, with its Galaxy line of devices, the Galaxy S being most sold phone.

But SE is trying hard to catch up the android game and looks set to unveil some cool devices early next year, beginning with the SE X12, also called ‘Anju’. The X12 test unit was previewed by the Mobile Review guys and they were able to confirm some of the leading specs of the phone. It’s said that the X12 will feature a LCD display (sorry, no AMOLED or Super AMOLED here!) stretching 4.3 inches wide capable of producing resolution of 854 x 480 and will be powered by new Qualcomm MSM 7230 800 Mhz processor.

While the earlier rumors suggested that the X12 will come pre-loaded with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the claim has now been nullified in the latest leaks about the phone, and it’s very much likely to run android 2.2 Froyo out of the box. We know that being a pre-loaded android 2.3 phone would have given SE X12 a massive boost and a stand-out phone, but it seems SE software guys are still lagging behind in the android arena, while their counterparts in the HTC and Motorola (maybe Samsung and LG too!) continue to march way ahead of them.

The phone is said to be slimmer than the X10, maybe it’s somewhere near Galaxy S’ 9.9 mm thickness or even thinner, we will know soon once SE officially unveils the phone, sometime around Christmas.

Another striking feature of the phone apart from it’s giant 4.3 inch screen and slim design is a 12 megapixel camera in the back that’s quite capable of shooting videos in 720p, which has become a standard for high end devices now a days.

SE X12 Specs

Let us know what you guys feel about the SE X12. Without pre-loaded Gingerbread, has it gone and become just a Droid X like android phone, or it still remains a phone of its own, what do you think?
