Sony hints at a potential Windows Phone in the future

Sony is rumored to be considering launching a Windows Phone this year, and now the company has confirmed it’s still in discussions with Microsoft. Speaking to TechRadar this week, Sony’s European mobile chief, Pierre Perron, says the company doesn’t want to be a “single OS manufacturer, noting it’s not a viable position long term.

Sony has confirmed to TechRadar that it is actively looking into the possibility of launching a Windows Phone as it seeks to move away from being a single OS manufacturer. Pierre Perron, head of Sony Mobile Europe, told TechRadar it didn’t want to offer only one flavour of mobile OS, stating: “We are continuing our discussions with other partners, including Microsoft, as part of our partnership with this company on the broader Sony spectrum.
