We’re not even that far past the launch of the iPhone 6 and we’re already seeing rumors about the iPhone 6S. The latest such rumors for this unconfirmed smartphone suggests that Apple’s next device will come equipped with 2GB of RAM, in comparison to the lackluster 1GB that the iPhone 6 currently has.
The iPhone 5 was Apple’s first smartphone to make use of 1 GB of RAM, and ever since the aforementioned handset was introduced, the Cupertino-based company has not increased the amount of memory in either one of its following smartphones. Sure enough, the technology was improved and the iPhone 5S packed LPDDR3 memory instead of LPDDR2, but the latest flagship phones haven’t actually brought anything new in this regard. Both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus come with 1 GB of LPDDR3 RAM, same as the iPhone 5S.
