Aside from the new iPhone, the next-generation Apple TV will be the most important announcement at Apple’s big media event next month in San Francisco. We’ve been hearing a lot about the streaming box over the past few months, many of which revolve around the device’s remote. The most recent of these rumors claims that the remote will be motion-sensitive and come with both physical buttons and a touchpad, as well as an integrated microphone.
As we had reported on earlier, Apple is expected to announce new products at its September 9th media event including the reveal of new iPhones and a new generation Apple TV device. Rumours are abound and gathering fast approaching the event and one of those new rumours pertains to the new generation of Apple TV devices that should act as a significant upgrade to the current generation. New features include an A8 chip and a native SDK for developers to create apps for the device. What also has been noted is that the new Apple TV will also use a motion-sensitive remote control with a touchpad, multi-axis sensors, physical buttons on the bottom and an integrated microphone for Siri. The use of Siri could provide new ways for consumers to input search queries. The controller may certainly allow for a capable casual gaming device, especially in multi-player gaming where individuals can use voice input or even party games that would fair better on the TV instead of an iPhone or iPad.
