Thanks to Edward Snowden and the actions of the NSA, there is a new cottage industry being formed that will help companies and individuals store their private data in offshore places and behind secure barriers to keep the prying eyes of the US and other governments away.

Google Inc., Facebook Inc. and other American technology companies were put on the defensive when Edward Snowden’s allegations about U.S.-government surveillance of Internet traffic emerged this spring.

Outside the U.S., some companies and politicians saw an opportunity.
