USB toothbrush helps you stay fresh at work

Philips has just introduced the Sonicare DiamondClean USB, a toothbrush that can help you stay fresh and clean while you’re at your desk. The new electric toothbrush uses a USB port to keep its batteries charged, which is why the consumer electronics company has dubbed it “the iPod of toothbrushes.”

Aside from USB connectivity, the device boasts five brushing modes and a “charge glass” for wireless charging. It’s slim design also makes it relatively easy to throw in a suitcase while traveling.

Philips has also introduced a flossing device that doesn’t use floss at all. Sonicare AirFloss uses microburst technology, a rapid burst of air and water droplets, to push plaque and bacteria from in between teeth.

“Research has shown that there are many barriers that prevent people from flossing regularly, from time and convenience, to dexterity,” said Erik Hollander, Sr. Marketing Director at Philips Consumer Lifestyle. “AirFloss was designed to make flossing easier and less time-consuming, and the oral health benefits are indisputable.”

Unfortunately, all this oral hygiene technology comes at a steep cost. What’s considered to be the world’s first USB toothbrush will sell for $219.99 in the US. AirFloss will set you back around $150.
