#Video: Fan-made Nightwing trailer poses an interesting Batman sequel idea

Nightwing Prodigal Son

In The Dark Knight Rises and throughout the trilogy, we never hear of Dick Grayson, AKA Robin. Sure, Blake is insinuated as being a Robinesque character, but the former boy circus performer from other versions of Batman franchise never materialized. With no Robin, there’s no Nightwing.

Nightwing Prodigal Son

In this nice fan-made trailer, we see Brady Roberts play Dick Grayson, having returned to Gotham after Batman disappeared. We get to see many of Batman’s enemies now coming after the new kid in town including Bane, the Joker, and Catwoman. As an odd bonus, Roberts has a striking resemblance to Christian Bale, though he doesn’t invoke the Batvoice.

For such an ambitious production made on practically no budget, the end result is pretty compelling. It fits less into the storyline of The Dark Knight trilogy and more as a crossover between different plots, combining games, comics, and a touch of the movies. Overall, it’s a fun four minutes.
