There was a time not too long ago when being called a "geek" was considered derogatory. People avoided geekiness as much as possible and only the few who settled for who they were had the ability to embrace their geekness and make the most of it. Today, things are different. People want to be considered geeks of various types. The stereotyping has become a positive thing.
