Women want geeks, not gym rats

Are you a gym rat, or a geek? Of course, we know it isn’t a dichotomy and it isn’t necessarily one or the other, but for argument’s sake, let’s just say it is. Classically, it was the meathead gym-culture guys that always got the hot babes, while the nerdy bookish types were teased and ignored. But oh how the tables have turned, because these days it seems that the geeks have got it going on.

Geek

More and more American’s are identifying themselves as being handy with gadgets and computers rather than spending a lot of time at the gym, 71% and 29% respectively. So it’s good news for them that 84% of women and 58% of men go for the nerd over the gym rat. Older adults are even more likely to be interested in someone who can patch up their computer; 80% of the 55 and over crowd are looking for a tech savvy individual.

With the increased interest in those who know their way around a hard drive, there are bound to be some imposters, but be forewarned, this is a mistake. Most people agree that men tend to over exaggerate their tech knowhow in order to get the girl, but if they let it go too far, well, that’s grounds for a painful breakup.
