Yelp updated its iOS app with Microsoft’s Bing Translator integration for reviews. You can download the new version now directly from Apple’s App Store. Foreign language reviews can be translated automatically with the tap of a button: you can interpret one review or all reviews in one go. The feature works for all 15 officially supported Yelp languages spanning 27 countries: English, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, German, Spanish, Italian, Norwegian, French, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish, Turkish, and Japanese.

Yelp users traveling overseas may come across language barriers when reading local reviews. But the popular app is now making it easier to experience the platform, with an automatic translator powered by Bing. Bing Translator will bring 15 languages to the site, including Spanish, French, Italian, English, Swedish and Japanese. When the user clicks on a single review or on a group of reviews written in a different language, a button gives him the option of translating the text to his or her specified language. The new feature is only available on the iPhone app for now, but should be launched for Android in the upcoming months. “The feature is most useful and relevant for travelers on the go,” a Yelp spokesperson toldMashable. “We hope to add support for machine translation on desktop at some point, but don’t have a specific timeline.”
