YouTube Hacked, Bieber Targeted

This morning it appears as though YouTube has been the subject of a malicious attack, with HTML in comments being used to insert code into video pages.

The good news? The hacker only seems interested in targeting Justin Bieber videos.

The hack employs a number of generally harmless exploits, such as showing javascript alerts and pop ups and redirecting users to other websites.

One pop up falsely claims Justin Bieber has died in a car accident, and recommends users check cnn.com for more information.

YouTube is deleting comments in an attempt to alleviate the problem while security is beefed up. The hack is allegedly the work of members of the 4chan bulletin board community, with a message being posted this morning stating “Remember this day. Today is a reminder that we can still shake the foundation of the internet.”.

  1. I experienced a hacker who thought it would be a lark to send messages to myself and others of our family telling them through one of our members that she had decided to end her life that there was a video explaining why she had decided to do this. turned out that the family member was fine and it was an attempt to send a virus through the video into our computers, then the “B” sent a pic of herself leaning smugly against her car, has anyone else experienced this person. she caused no end of shook and grief in our family until we could contact our relitive whos name had been usedfor this perpose.
