The makers of the Smart car have now created an iPhone application designed for cars that will allow users to turn their iPhone into a useful device while people are driving down the highway.
The point of this iPhone application — supposedly called “Smart” — is to provide access to critical tasks you would need to perform in a car, and it provides an interface useful for drivers (big buttons, easy to use navigation, etc).
There is a music player that will allow users to easily access their iPhone music collection and play it through their cars audio. However, it takes it a step further by enabling the user to stream Internet radio through your car’s speakers as well.
There’s a phone component that allows users to easily navigate their contact list and make calls without having to fumble through separate menu systems on the iPhone. There is also a cool way to scroll through your contacts that will enable you to find names quickly.
The navigation component will allow you to easily access navigation controls with the iPhone’s built-in GPS, and it has features like the ability to find gas prices or find specific locations with integrated Bing search.
And there are other useful features including a car finder, which will store the location of your car so you can easily find it if you manage to lose your way back to your vehicle.
Seems like a smart move to us.
