iPad Gets A Stylus: Creatives Everywhere Can Rejoice

If there is one issue that the iPad has in the eyes of the artist, it is that the device lacks a stylus. Sure, there have been attempts to create a stylus using homemade materials that supposedly works well, but people want something a little more robust and fashionable to go with their sexy iPad device.

Ten One Design was already ahead of the game, because their stylus works with Macbook trackpads, iPod Touches, and, low and behold, the mighty iPad!

The Pogo Sketch was initially created for trackpads and the iPod Touch, enabling users to be more creative with the limited input space they were provided with, but with the iPad’s arrival, the Pogo Sketch can truly shine in the way it was meant to in the first place. Talk about luck, right?

Pogo Sketch

You should check out the video at the beginning of this article to check out the Pogo Sketch in action on the iPad (the 3-minute mark is when it gets interesting).

From the looks of it, It works as advertised. However, keep in mind that there is no pressure sensitivity like you would get with Wacom tablet products.

Lack of touch sensitivity aside (which is an iPad issue), the Pogo Sketch looks like a fantastic product that artists and creatives should enable artists and creatives to get much more use out of their iPad.

  1. Sold. Been talking to a few people about this and figured it was only a matter of time before someone made an official stylus. For typing I’m finding the iPad keyboard sufficient, but for sketching and drawing a stylus would be far superior.

I agree, Toby. If I had an iPad, this would be an automatic purchase, without question. If even to just attempt to draw, as my art skills are lacking.

  3. It’s a start. Hoping that we’ll get pressure sensitivity in a future iPad update. That’s when I’ll buy.
