A flip phone is one of the last places I’d expect to find a Snapdragon 808, but that’s exactly where Samsung put one of the chips. Going by the model number SM-G9198, this flip phone packs the kind of specs I’d expect to find on a solid mid-range smartphone, with a 16 MP main camera and obviously the Snapdragon 808. Unfortunately for any of you who may be interested in the device, there’s a good chance it’s going to remain exclusive to Asia.

With the spotlight on Samsung’s freshly announced Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ and Note 5, the Chinese branch of the company quietly announced a new flip phone powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808. The smartphone goes by its Chinese name 领世旗舰Ⅲ, but from obvious reason we’ll be calling it SM-G9198. If this model-number rings any bells its because recently it has been rumored recently that this the alias of a potential Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini. Take a look at some pics and join us after the break for the features of Samsung’s latest flip phone. As mentioned above, the G9198 is powered by a Snapdragon 808 chipset, comes with a 16 MP main camera (F1.9 aperture size) coupled with a 6 MP front facing shooter, and a dual 3.9-inch Super AMOLED display (768 x 1280 – WXGA) protected by Gorilla Glass 4.
