Guys. Guys. Guys. Twitter is getting a redesign.

Whenever I have anything to say about Twitter, I like to say it with gusto. Twitter is my goddamn lifeblood, and if I had it my way, it would be be permanently displayed on the inside of my corneas, so I could tweet while sleeping.

Naturally, as this level of Twitter enthusiast, a site redesign is a big deal to me.

Twitter’s design guy-in-charge Doug Bowman recently released a teaser image that shows new stats: your tweet-per-day rate, how many days you’ve been on Twitter, and even who’s been replying to you, and how often. Now you’ll know exactly how much of your life you’ve been wasting microblogging. I for one can’t wait to know the sad, sad truth. Like, seriously, I can’t wait.

One thing I do hope, however, is that the redesign makes Twitter, as a website, actually relevant. Anyone who uses Twitter on a regular basis never visits the site; there are a host of awesome apps across every platform that can handle our Twitterbidnezz for us. More revealing usage stats is a great start to pull me back to Twitter.com – I’m on the edge of my freaking chair to see what else this overhaul has in store, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
