Onboard hacker allegedly took control of an airplane

If there was any way to make people more fearful of flying, it would be to let them know that someone could bring a computer on a plane, hack into the onboard flight controls, and commandeer it against the will of the pilots. That’s exactly what one hacker claims and he’s now being investigated by the FBI.

A SECURITY RESEARCHER kicked off a United Airlines flight last month after tweeting about security vulnerabilities in its system had previously taken control of an airplane and caused it to briefly fly sideways, according to an application for a search warrant filed by an FBI agent.
