Apple wants to avoid a second bendgate with the iPhone 6S

Apple’s obsession with making the iPhone thinner may have reached its limit, as a new report suggests that iPhone 6S will be ever so slightly thicker than its predecessor. There’s a point where a smartphone becomes TOO thin, and if the bendgate controversy is any indication, the iPhone 6 managed to reach that point. That’s probably why Apple is making its next iPhone a bit thicker, so as to avoid a second bendgate. 

Apple’s new iPhone 6s handsets are going to be unveiled during a September 9th event, a reliable source revealed not to long ago, and should hit stores by September 18th, with preorders supposedly beginning on September 11th. While Apple is carefully guarding iPhone 6s information, many leaks have so far offered details about the specs and design of the phone, including some images of the handset. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are expected to be similar to their predecessors when it comes to overall design but a new report is suggesting the new handsets will differ when it comes to one critical aspect: thickness. According to German Apple news site iPhone-Ticker.de, the iPhone 6s will be imperceptibly thicker than the iPhone 6. The first protective cases for the handset have apparently been mass-produced in China, and they’re just 0.2mm thicker than similar products made for Apple’s 2014 line of iPhones.
