It’s that time of the product life cycle again: reports are beginning to trickle in of a slight yellow-screen issue with the new iMacs, continuing a now-long tradition of slight yellow-screen issues for Apple. Between, the previous generation of iMac, the iPhone 4, and now this, it would seem Apple just can’t catch a break.
But what gives? Apple claimed they had eliminated the problem back in February, with the previous iMac. Did they just forget to apply what they’d learned to this one? Sup, Steve?
Granted, the vast majority of users are reporting no real problem – approximately 80% of MacRumors users participating in the poll with the new 27-inch model cite yellow-free crystal clarity, which would make one almost dismiss the whole issue as mass hysteria. But, given the fact that this very issue seems to pop up with all new Apple products these days, it wouldn’t be a stretch to call this just another yellow drop in the bucket.
More info on this critically exciting situation as it develops.

Apple is definitely under the microscope after the iPhone 4 issue. Sounds like a lot of mass hysteria to me.

We just bought a new generation 21″ iMac and found it had a yellowish screen. Took it back to the shop (2 hour drive each way) and tried 4 more (21″ and 27″) and all had yellow screens. Went to another suppler and looked at a few which also had yellow screens. Looked at the 27″ on display and was white so we bought the display one.
