PlayStation Monitors Switch 2, Reviving Hopes for Handheld Revolution

PlayStation Watching Switch 2 Launch Closely

After being shown last week, the Nintendo Switch 2 is attracting a lot of attention. Sony has begun soliciting user feedback on the next system, which has raised expectations for a new PlayStation handheld.

Notable video game leaker eXtas1s broke the news after Sony sent a poll to its consumers asking what they thought of the recently unveiled Nintendo Switch 2. Customers are specifically questioned by the firm about their interest in acquiring the new console, their thoughts on the Nintendo Direct, the reasons behind their greatest excitement for the console, and the three primary reasons they plan to buy it.

This has rekindled expectations that Sony will produce a handheld console, as some might have anticipated. Some gamers expressed their wish for a sequel to the PSP and PS Vita in a recent Reddit discussion. Fans would be thrilled if Sony released a new PlayStation portable, but this may not mean the God of War creator is producing a new portable. Sony may just be executing market research here, which has no bearing on what the customer sees. Gamers will simply have to wait for the outcome if this leads to anything.

According to a post on X, the PS Portal, a portable gadget that transmits PS5 games, allows gamers to enjoy PlayStation games on the go for the time being. Based in part on the popularity of the portable streaming device, there have been earlier rumors that Sony is developing a standalone handheld console.
