How would Oblivion Remastered on the Xbox Series X compare to the Xbox Series S?
Both the Xbox One X and Series S versions of Oblivion Remastered are seen in the gameplay video below, which was provided by Fuzion Testing on YouTube. This video not only compares the identical open world gameplay across the two platforms but also measures frame rate. The outcomes are essentially what was anticipated.

According to reports, Oblivion Remastered on the Series X runs in Quality mode with a potential native output of 1080p to 1274p, which is subsequently upscaled to 4K, while Achievement mode has a potential native output of 1080p. On the Series X, both modes appear to largely meet their particular frame rate goals of 30 and 60 frames per second.

According to a post on X, Oblivion Remastered runs on the Series S at a potential native output of 420p to 630p, which is then upscaled to 1260p. It appears to adhere rather well to its 30FPS goal. Unfortunately, the Xbox Series S edition of Oblivion Remastered only supports 30 frames per second at launch because it lacks a 60FPS option.

This is a fantastic initial glimpse at how Oblivion Remastered is doing on the Series X and S thus far, but testers need Digital Foundry to jump in with the certified resolutions soon. In the video, they have included both of the films from Fuzion Xbox Testing below so you can compare the two iterations and get your own opinions.

Aside from the 30 frames per second restriction, testers believe the Series S does admirably in this comparison against the Series X! However, there are some issues with visual stutters and artifacting, which can be discussed in our “hands-on” news article. Stay tuned with TECHi news!
