How TECHi scores analysts

Every number we claim about an analyst — their accuracy, their hit rate, their leaderboard rank — is generated from the rules below. No editorial intervention, no private tweaks, no cherry-picked windows. The rules change only via this page, with a dated changelog.

Report outcomes: scored at 30 / 90 / 180 days

When an analyst publishes a report, we snapshot the ticker’s price. After each horizon closes, an automated job fetches the live price and computes the return against that snapshot — signed for the stance. A +5% move on a bullish call and a −5% move on a bearish call both score +500 basis points.

  • Return:(price at horizon − price at publish) ÷ price at publish, signed for stance.
  • Hit target: bullish call with price ≥ target, or bearish call with price ≤ target, by the 90-day mark.
  • Accuracy bonus: if a report hits its target within 90 days, the analyst is automatically credited $5.00 in the ledger. Paid once per report, no re-scoring.

Prices used are the previous-day close from our market-data provider. Horizons that fall on a weekend or market holiday roll forward to the next trading session.

The TECHi Score (leaderboard rank)

A 0–100 composite, weighted toward accuracy on meaningful sample sizes. Analysts without at least 3 scored outcomes are marked Emerging and not yet ranked.

Paid subscriptions & payouts

Readers subscribe to an analyst at one of two tiers: Pro ($19/mo) or Elite ($49/mo). TECHi takes a 20.0% platform fee; the rest is credited to the analyst via Stripe Connect and paid out on the 1st of each month (minimum $25 balance).

Refunds show up as a negative ledger entry on the analyst’s account the day the refund posts at Stripe. We don’t “net” revenue silently — every movement is append-only and visible to the analyst in their Studio.

What we don’t do

  • No retroactive edits. Once a report is published, the snapshot price and text are locked. Analysts post follow-ups as new reports; the original stays on the record.
  • No editorial score boosts. No analyst gets a bump for a good anecdote, a good look, or a good relationship. If you think a score is wrong, the math is transparent enough for you to recompute it.
  • No pay-to-rank.Elite pricing doesn’t affect leaderboard position. Sponsored research is marked as such in the disclosure, always.
