A tale of two gigabytes

On the left, you have a 1GB hard drive. It weighed about 75 lbs, and 31 years ago companies could get this, at the time the largest mass produced 1GB hard drive, for $81,000. On the right, you’re probably familiar with a $15 1GB card. It’s amazing to see how three decades can make such a difference in technologies.

What will 1GB look like three decades from now.
