Dish partners with Sprint for LTE-based home broadband trial

Dish’s attempts to disrupt Sprint’s buyout with SoftBank may not have come to fruition, but apparently that doesn’t mean the two companies can’t make up and sign a deal. The two are teaming up to test out broadband service that pick ups wireless signals from Sprint’s 4G LTE network and delivers them into homes.

Sprint Corporation (NYSE: S) and DISH Network Corporation (NASDAQ: DISH) announced today they plan to jointly develop and deploy a fixed wireless broadband service, on a trial basis, in Corpus Christi, TX that will be available in the middle of 2014. The service will initially be available in limited areas of Corpus Christi with a plan to expand into additional markets in the future.
