Google’s upcoming Nexus 6 has received approval from the FCC

Google’s new Nexus 6 smartphone has been approved by the FCC. The news comes just days before the device is set to go up for pre-order through Google Play, and it prevents another approval delay like that suffered by the Nexus Player earlier this month. The newly discovered FCC documents don’t name the Nexus 6 specifically, but they do detail a smartphone made by Motorola that measures 159.4mm tall, and 83mm wide. According to Google Play, the Nexus 6 measures 159.26mm tall and 82.98mm wide.

Since the October 15 Nexus 6 unveiling, Google has been tight-lipped about when exactly the Nexus 6 will be released. Thanks to some recently discovered FCC documents, we now have some new information to help us speculate some more. First reported on Reddit, the FCC filing shows us a Motorola device that closely resembles the Nexus 6. It’s worth noting that there is no mention of the word Nexus 6 in the filing, however, based on the matching device measurements, it’s a safe bet to assume this is indeed the Nexus 6. The FCC listing shows a devices that is 159.4mm x 83mm, while the Nexus 6 on Google Play has measurements of 159.26×82.98mm.
