One of the best Android Wear smartwatches is getting a successor

Smartwatches are still new, so it’s to be expected that critical responses to them be mixed. One of the more well-received smartwatches was the ZenWatch, an Android Wear-powered ASUS device that’s still one of the best choices on the market at the moment. That should change very soon, however, as ASUS has taken into account both the criticism and the praise for its first smartwatch and will be using what it learned to create the ZenWatch 2, a new smartwatch that ASUS will be releasing in the near future.

We have been hearing about the new Asus ZenWatch 2 and now the company has announced the device at Computex. There are two versions of the new Asus ZenWatch 2, one which measures 49mm by 41mm and uses 22mm watch bands, the other measures 45 x 37mm and takes 18mm watch bands. Both of these new Asus ZenWatch 2 devices share similar specifications, which include a Qualcomm processor, an AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, a magnet charger cable, Google’s Android Wear and an IP67 rating. Both models of the XenWatch Two will be available in three different colors, Silver, Gunmetal and Rose Gold. They will also be available with a range of different straps which include, leather, metal and Rubber. “ZenWatch 2 builds upon the original ZenWatch, offering an even more refined design, an improved user experience, and the introduction of completely new functionality. ZenWatch 2 now includes a metal watch crown, enhancing the user experience by a providing new way to interact with the watch. It also comes with an all-new magnetic charger that features effortless attachment and dramatically improved battery recharge times.”
