LG claims Qualcomm’s overheating issues have been fixed

Despite how Qualcomm is hyping up its Snapdragon 810 processor as the greatest mobile chip to grace the Earth, the processor appears to be suffering from some major overheating issues. So major, in fact, that Samsung is reportedly forgoing the use of the chip in its next flagship. Now LG has come to Qualcomm’s aid and has announced that, while there were overheating issues, they’re no more.

It seems that there has been word going around that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor does indeed suffer from the issue of overheating, and taking into consideration the LG G Flex 2 handset that runs on the Snapdragon 810 chipset had already been announced earlier this month at CES 2015, it makes perfect sense for LG to step forward and perform some sort of damage control – by mentioning that their 64-bit octa-core smartphone does not heat up. In fact, the LG G Flex 2 was commended that it emits less heat than competing smartphones, now how about that? However, over at its recent Q4 2014 earnings conference, LG did mention shipping 60 million smartphones and experiencing an increase in revenue, as well as admission that it encountered “issues” in the initial batch of Snapdragon 810 processors, although the good news is, such “issues” have already been solved.
