Using a third-party tool doesn’t mean status updates are scheduled

There are many people using third-party apps and tools to help manage their social media efforts and since many of them allow you to access various social sites it can become a reliable hub to share information while keeping caps on time management. Unfortunately some people assume that once they see the “via” below a status update that the post has been scheduled. That is not always the case.

Sure many tools and apps that help with social media management offer the ability to schedule your updates such as Hootsuite, Buffer, Postling and Tweetdeck to name a few, but that does not or should not automatically imply that someone is not right there ready to communicate.

With all the social networks we are told we “must” be on we need these types of tools to remain sane and able to function not just online but to carry on with our offline lives too. I have seen people comment and react to a status update negatively thinking that a person is not there, that it is scheduled and looks fake in the eyes of some, that is why I want to send a reminder, that just because someone uses a third-party tool or app does not mean that every word, video, article or update is scheduled, and if it is, so what?
