The mind blowing motorized monocycle

At first when I saw this I had to scratch my head, wondering what it was, the image alone is what peaked my interest and then I found out that this is a vehicle of sorts and was awed by its conception. Surprisingly, the original design began back in 1869 in France and since then has taken an unimaginable design to turn into reality. The motorized monocycle, made in the Netherlands, propels a single rider up to 25 MPH.

It seats one person, as you can see from the picture and moves in a circular motion. Powered by a 31cc, four-stroke 1 1/2-hp engine moving the wheel functions by using a centrifugal clutch on its inner steel frame to employ the larger 67″ diam. outer flywheel that then makes contact with the rubber tire on the ground.  As you can see, there is no steering wheel; in fact, you are the steering wheel by moving side to side, much like when riding on a scooter.

Though it is not a street legal vehicle, you can certainly find a parking lot to try this bad boy out and with 2 hours of play time on less than half a gallon of gas, I am sure there would be much fun to be had.
