Did Apple make a mistake releasing two iPhones?

APPLE is keeping quiet on how many iPhone 5C devices it pre-sold in its first 24 hours. It’s the first time since 2009 that it has withheld pre-order information, indicating that it may be experiencing disappointing sales when compared against previous years pre-orders, CNET reported.
This year only the iPhone 5C was made available for presale. The 5S will become available for purchase at 12.01am on Friday.
On Friday Analyst Piper Jaffrey predicted that Apple would receive around 1 million pre-orders for the iPhone 5C, around held the 2 million order it received from the iPhone 5 and around the same amount of orders it received for the iPhone 4S in 2011.
