Ex-Meta Engineer Secures $14M for Lace AI to Boost Revenue with AI-Driven Software

Ex-Meta Engineer Raises $14M for Lace AI to Revolutionize Customer Service with Revenue-Boosting Software

Mountain View, CA  Lace AI, a startup founded by former Meta engineer Boris Valkov, has raised $14 million in seed funding to enhance customer service through AI technology. The company’s innovative software is designed to help home service businesses, such as plumbing, HVAC, and roofing companies, increase their sales by optimizing call center interactions.

Lace AI: Transforming Customer Service in Home Services

Lace AI utilizes artificial intelligence to analyze every customer call in order to identify missed revenue opportunities. Unlike other solutions, which typically monitor a sample of calls, Lace AI’s software analyzes 100% of incoming calls, ensuring that no potential lead or opportunity is overlooked. This comprehensive approach allows businesses to improve their chances of converting calls into sales, thereby boosting revenue.

The concept for Lace AI was inspired by Boris Valkov’s early exposure to customer service while working in his family’s grocery store. His experiences and background in AI and software engineering at Meta and VMware fueled his vision for applying AI to improve business operations, particularly in industries that rely heavily on phone-based customer interactions.

Securing Funding and Expanding Horizons

In a significant milestone for the startup, Lace AI has raised a total of $19 million since its inception in early 2022. This includes an earlier $5 million pre-seed round and the recently closed $14 million seed round, led by Bek Ventures. Other investors include Canvas Ventures, Horizon VC, and notable individuals such as Marcin Zukowski of Snowflake and Heini Zachariassen of Vivino.

With the fresh injection of capital, Lace AI plans to expand its team and enhance its AI-powered platform. Valkov revealed that the company has already seen remarkable growth, with its revenue growing at an astounding 1,000% annual recurring revenue (ARR) in 2024, following its official product launch in late 2023. The company currently works with over 100 home service businesses and has seen double-digit revenue growth for some clients.

Strategic Impact and Future Growth

As the company expands, the team’s focus remains on offering a product that not only improves customer service efficiency but also generates tangible financial results for businesses. Mehmet Atici, managing partner at Bek Ventures, emphasized the strategic importance of Lace AI’s mission, highlighting the increasing trend of applying AI to industries that have traditionally been underserved by technology. He said

“This team has a keen understanding of how to identify and address the needs of these often overlooked sectors, presenting a huge growth opportunity,”

Lace AI’s success in generating rapid growth reflects the growing role of AI in customer service, particularly in industries that rely heavily on phone-based interactions. As the company continues to scale, it aims to enhance its platform further to ensure it remains a valuable tool for businesses looking to capture every potential sales opportunity.
