On Wednesday, Google launched the A-series Pixel 9a phone at just $499. The phone will be available in markets starting in April in four vibrant colorways: Peony, Iris, Porcelain, and Obsidian. The company describes the phone as
‘Built to last with a new design, upgraded camera system and helpful AI’
The most prominent feature of Pixel 9a is its flat and rounded-edged design, with no camera bar on the back. Google also claims that it has the brightest display of the A-series, comparatively 35 percent brighter than Pixel 8a.
The Most Durable A-series Phone
While commenting on the durability of Pixel 9a, Google claims that this phone has 30 hours of battery life with over 100 hours in Extreme Battery Saver mode. Additionally, it is water and dust-resistant. The phone will come in seven years of OS updates, security updates, and Pixel Drops.
AI Features
Pixel 9a is featured with Gemini Nano, the personal AI assistant launched by Google. This AI assistant will help users with maps, calendar, and online searching. About Gemini Live, the company said
‘You’ll also get access to Gemini Live, which lets you use your voice to interact with Gemini’
Google also informed its customers that soon Gemini Advanced subscribers will have access to Gemini Live with ‘video-and-screen-sharing capabilities’ on Pixel 9a, making this phone more versatile and compelling for tech-savvy customers.
High-Security Features
To ensure Google’s high-security policy, the newly launched A-series phone will be available with Car Crash Detection and Theft protection and a built-in Google VPN system. It will also provide users with the Find My Device feature to share their live location.
Dual Rear Camera System
Google has upgraded its dual rear camera system in this latest A-series phone. It is featured with a 48MP main camera along with a 13MP ultrawide camera. Additionally, the new Macro Focus feature will allow photo lovers to focus on details. Its ‘don’t let go’ feature includes integration of AI powered photography through Add Me, Best Take, and Magic Editor. As the phone will hit the market at the beginning of April, it is to be seen how Google customers respond to this promising AI-featured mid-range phone.
